Actually... It was exactly where Cancer began.
Long time ago, in a castle behind a mountain, there lived a king and his
queen, named King Lamburgh and Queen Vallene. They had married for
fifteen years without any children. In one beautiful morning, they were
sitting in the pavilion and drinking tea when suddenly King Lamburgh got
and idea of making a party.
“I would like to celebrate our fifteenth marriage anniversary, my dear. It must be very exciting!”, said King Lamburgh.
“Tonight? Yes, must be very exciting. Who will be invited to the party?”, asked Queen Vallene.
“I intend to invite all our relations and partners, all kings and
princes, our people, and also fairies.”, answered King Lamburgh.
“Fairies?”, Queen Vallene asked confusedly.
“I hope we could find one fairy who’s able to get us a child, to make you pregnant.”, said King Lamburgh.
Queen Vallene smiled. Her smile figured out how she also dreamed about having a child.
The night came, then many people attended the party. The castle was very
full of voices. People were singing and dancing, also having such a
good quality of foods and drinks. In the end of the party, there came
fairies to grant King Lamburgh and Queen Vallene biggest wish. One by
one tried to use their power to make Queen Vallene pregnant. One by one
left, they failed. Finally, the turn for the last fairy came.
“Good evening, Your Majesty. I’m Lavinza Noura, the most powerful fairy.
I absolutely will make Queen Vallene pregnant. But, there’s one
requirement.”, said the fairy.
“What is it?”, asked King Lamburgh.
“You will have a daughter. She will grow up as a beautiful, elegant, and
smart woman. She will become a great leader to your Kingdom and your
people. But, you owe my son a marriage. She has to marry my son.”,
answered Lavinza.
“Perfect! You deserve that.”, said Queen Vallene.
Since King Lamburgh and Queen Vallene made it as a deal, Lavinza used
all her power and did it. Queen Vallene pregnant. That was the most
wonderful moment for the Kingdom. It was also the beginning of new days
in the castle with their new precious part, Princess Caroline.
Princess Caroline grew up as a beautiful, elegant, and smart woman,
exactly as the fairy had said.
A week before her sixteenth birthday, King Lamburgh and Queen Vallene started the party preparation.
“Dad, I want to wear a green gown, may I?”, said Princess Caroline.
“Absolutely you may, sweetheart. We’ll provide anything you need for your birthday party!”, said King Lamburgh.
“Oh...Thank you so much, Daddy! I love you!”, said Princess Caroline.
Queen Vallene and her assistants had sent the invitations to all
Kingdoms in that Land. Their castle was decorated with green stuffs and
properties. Princess Caroline badly adored green. She once told her
mother that green was the most peaceful and calm color.
The day of the Princess Sixteenth Birthday Party finally came. Princess
Caroline looked hugely gorgeous with the green gown and shoes, also a
shiny silver crown on her head. In the party, she met a prince, named
Prince Peter. They were dancing and talking all night long. They fell in
love each other. Sincethen, they began their relationship. They were
such a cute and happy couple.
Day by day, the love between Princess Caroline and Prince Peter grew
stronger. In one warm and bright night, Prince Peter and his father came
to King Lamburgh’s castle. They intended to meet King Lamburgh, Queen
Vallene, and Princess Caroline. At that moment, Prince Peter proposed
Princess Caroline. Princess Caroline accepted and Prince Peter wore her a
luxurious gold ring on her finger. Sunddenly, Lavinza and her son stood
right in the center of the room.
“Lamburgh! How dare you? You have made a deal with me sixteen years ago!
You fortunately forget it, don’t you?”, shouted Lavinza angrily.
“Forgive us, Lavinza. It accidentally happened. They were falling in
love without a plan. Who’s able to plan the time for love existance
between humans? Couldn’t we change the deal?”, said Queen Vallene.
“We could give you golds, diamonds, and beautiful emeralds. Don’t you
want it?”, said King Lamburgh. He and his wife were hardly fighting for
their daughter’s happiness.
“Shut your mouth up! So, you are now thinking that I’m a begger, aren’t
you? It’s enough, Lamburgh. You have broken our deal. You can’t pay what
you have owed. Your daughter will spend the rest of her life with a
serious disease that none of your generations will ever find the cure.
Her pretty hair will fall everyday and become bald. The disease will
slowly kill her. Easy, it’s slowly... Hahahaha very slowly!”, said
Lavinza before she and her son disappeared.
Princess Caroline innocently stared at her parents. Queen Vallene was
crying, her tears wasn’t that much, but her eyes described the trully
pain that she was feeling inside. King Lamburgh didn’t have any better
choice than explaining everything to his daughter and her husband to be.
“I don’t care. I will marry her. I love her with all of my heart, even
any little space of my soul has been being whole hers. I probably can
not take the disease out of her body. But, there’s no probability she
would face it alone, cause I’ll be there right beside her.”, said Prince
Peter.
King Lamburgh and Queen Vallene could not believe in Prince Peter’s
decision. Prince Peter and Princess Caroline continued their engagement.
By the time, Princess Caroline realized that the disease totally lived
in her. But, she didn’t show that she felt very painful. She smiled, she
laughed, she made jokes, she always showed how much she was happy to
live with her lovely husband, inside and out. However, her hair kept
falling, she became bald. But, it didn’t matter, it didn’t even change
any little part of Prince Peter’s heart. He stayed there to love and
take care of Princess Caroline. They finally decided to marry. The
family of them both were very happy for them. Their marriage ceremony
was held sacredly.
“When you were born, Lavinza had given you a big potention in leadership
and authority. That’s just what you are supposed to be. That’s just the
way you are supposed to through. Now, I’m letting you lead my Kingdom
and my people.”, said King Lamburgh.
“We trust you, dearest.”, Queen Vallene whispered while she was hugging her daughter tight.
Sincethen, Princess Caroline led the Kingdom and the people. She was a
great leader to them. She visited them every morning. She loved to help
the paupers and people with disorders or sicknesses. She didn’t only
help them by food or medicines, but with her warm hands, she held them,
she took care of them, all of them. Although she became weaker everyday
and she knew it wouldn’t be long, she kept strong and tough. Besides,
Prince Peter trully accompanied her through her life with the disease.
Year by year, the disease attacked harder and harder. Then, finally came
the times where bloods came out from Princess Caroline’s mouth and
nose. It was a sign that the end was getting closer.
“Caroline, it’s been seven years. It wasn’t a short time to be through.
You are the most beautiful woman I have ever met and the strongest one I
have ever known. In this moment, let me know one thing. Were you happy?
In those seven years with me and your people?”, asked Prince Peter.
“Peter, I wouldn’t be able to hold on without you near me. There is no
word to thank you for every moment you were standing by my side. I’m
very happy for those seven years with you and my people. I’m happy to
ever lived as myself, to ever spent my ages to struggle for what I’m
trully believing in, and to ever done efforts to who were worth it.”,
answered Princess Caroline.
“I love you.”, said Prince Peter with tears on his face.
“I’m definitely blessed to love you and be loved by you.”, said Princess
Caroline. Prince Peter hug his lovely wife. That was the tightest hug
he had ever done to Princess Caroline.
That day was the darkest day to the Kingdom and the people. Deep
condolences covered all the land by the death of their hero, “The Bald
Princess”, Princess Caroline.
“It is too fast. She’s only twenty-three years old.”, said one of the servants in the castle.
King Lamburgh delivered a speech in his daughter’s honorable funeral.
“It’s never about how long we live, but about how do we live. My
daughter had dedicated all her life to you, her people. No matter how
short her life was, she had lived as her very best.”, said King
Lamburgh.
Finally, King Lamburgh and Queen Vallene gave full authority to lead
their Kingdom and their people to Prince Peter. He had learned many
things from his wife, he was ready to take that responsibility. Princess
Caroline had inspired everyone in her life.
One more thing. The disease which attacked Princess Caroline is now
being known as “Cancer”. Hopefully, this story could inspire people with
Cancer, all around the world.
THE END
MORAL VALUE:
• Every owe must be paid as you have dealth, it is unreplaceable and available for eternity.
• No matter how short you live, live as your very best.
• A disease may take your body, your hair, and your organs. But, it will
never able to take your heart, your mind, and your skills.
• You may have sicknesses or weaknesses, but never let them have you.
